Our JOTA activity will be conducted as part of a Venturer QRP (low-power amateur radio) hiking expedition through D’Aguilar National Park, Queensland. Venturers will hike into the remote Scrub Road campsite, carrying their own radio equipment, antennas and portable power supplies. We'll establish a temporary QRP station and attempt to make contact with other JOTA stations across Australia and internationally using HF amateur radio bands, primarily 40 m, 20 m, 15 m and 10 m, depending on propagation conditions. Operations will take place from Saturday afternoon through to Sunday morning. The activity aims to combine hiking, bushcraft, radio communications and practical STEM learning in a remote environment.
